Pediatric Therapy
Each day, in one way or another, countless children need help to reach their full potential. We have a new program to help them do just that. It’s called Encompass Pediatric Therapy.
You already may know that we provide tailored treatment plans and home-based therapeutic services for up to 100 families who have children from birth to age 3 with developmental delays.
However, as you probably are also keenly aware, the need for therapy for children of all ages has grown considerably in recent years. Recognizing this trend, we have expanded to provide a seamless transition of comprehensive evaluation and treatment for children from birth through age 18.
With three therapy rooms to serve up to 75 youths each week, we now offer individualized: • Speech therapy • Feeding therapy • Occupational therapy • Augmentative and alternative communication
Therapy will be delivered in a positive, fun and nurturing environment in which a patient’s family members are encouraged to actively participate in their child’s treatment program.
Encompass will bill selected insurance plans and accept private payment from families for services not covered.

ENCOMPASS PEDIATRIC THERAPY HELPS KIDS REACH FULL POTENTIAL
(The following story is reprinted from the Business Notebook advertising section of the March 26, 2009, edition of the SnoValley Star.)
To look at April Snow, a bright and bouncy nearly-6-year-old sporting a blonde ponytail and sparkling smile, you would never suspect that she would find it a challenge to “read” facial expressions.
Or follow two easy instructions in a row. Or ask for help.
But skills of language and expression that most of us take for granted can be huge hurdles for more children than you might suspect.
That’s where Encompass Pediatric Therapy comes in.
When Encompass was founded 42 years ago, its core program provided individual therapy for infants and toddlers. For decades, Washington state has designated Encompass to provide in-home early intervention for children from birth to age 3 with developmental delays who live in the Snoqualmie Valley, Issaquah and Riverview school districts.
However, the need for therapy for children of all ages has skyrocketed. Encompass foresaw this trend and recently launched a major expansion. Encompass Pediatric Therapy, in downtown North Bend, now provides a seamless, comprehensive evaluation and treatment for children through age 18.
With credentialed therapists and three therapy rooms serving up to 75 youths each week, Encompass offers speech, feeding and occupational therapy as well as augmentative and alternative communication. The children’s challenges range from stuttering and lisping to more severe difficulties, and staff target therapies to meet each child’s need.
The presence of a top-flight, local facility with trained and caring staff made Encompass the clear choice for April’s mom, Lynn Snow of North Bend. Snow appreciated Encompass when April received therapy as a toddler, and she is even more satisfied now that her daughter is nearly 6.
“Encompass is very professional and very good at what they do,” she says. “They have great rapport with children. They pay attention, and they know how to interact, even when kids are tired or maxed out. They understand kids, and they know that working with a 1- or 2-year-old is far different from working with a 6- or 10-year-old. I’ve been to other places, and you just kind of get a feeling. I can see that Encompass is helping April to express herself in a productive way.”
Encompass Pediatric Therapy can write and carry out treatment plans for children of any age. It is part of the organization’s inspiring mission: to nurture children, enrich families and inspire community.
