Respectful Giving Campaign

We have developed a unique giving program that assists local families during the November and December holiday season and offers other community members opportunities to share their resources by helping create bountiful food baskets filled with food, treats and gift certificates to enable them to shop for their children’s holiday gifts.

Respectful Giving for 2009 is under way

You will see evidence of the campaign when you spot blue donation boxes at Snoqualmie Valley businesses. The participating businesses include:

In North Bend:

Ace Hardware

Emerald City Smoothie

Mount Si Sports and Fitness

Puget Sound Gymnastics & Dance

In Snoqualmie:

Carmichael’s True Value Hardware

Sno Falls Credit Union in Snoqualmie

Snoqualmie Valley Hospital

Uncle Si’s Pizza

Please deposit your donations of nonperishable food in the blue boxes from now through mid-December. All donations help Valley families in need.

'CANS' Film Festival!

There’s another way to help Respectful Giving – the ‘CANS’ Film Festival! Please attend a special benefit showing of the brand-new, PG-rated Walt Disney movie “A Christmas Carol,” starring Jim Carrey, at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at the
North Bend Theatre, 125 West North Bend Way. Admission is a donation of just four non-perishable food items or $10 cash.

For other showings from Sunday to Thursday, Nov. 15-19, North Bend Theatre customers can receive a $1 admission discount for each can donated, up to a $3 discount. Next door, customers of Emerald City Smoothie can receive a 10 percent discount with each can donated, up to a 30 percent discount.

Another business participating in Respectful Giving is Uncle Si’s Pizza at 7729 Center Blvd SE in Snoqualmie. For all food orders accompanied by a four-can food donation from Nov. 15 through Nov. 19, Uncle Si’s is offering a 20 percent discount.

Of course, monetary contributions for Respectful Giving are accepted anytime at the Encompass Main Campus, 1407 Boalch Ave. N.W., North Bend. All donations benefit the 2009 Encompass Respectful Giving Campaign. Join us! For more information, call Stacey Cepeda at Encompass: 425.888.2777 / www.encompassnw.org.
