They're graduating toward literacy!
6/22/2012

Maribel Hinkle, home visitor for the Encompass Parent-Child Home Program, presents diplomas to toddlers (from left) Cinthia of Duvall and Sayra of Fall City on Friday, June 22, 2012, during a commencement ceremony for the program’s first-ever graduating class of 29 tykes. The national program, launched at Encompass last fall and funded by United Way, supports early literacy and school readiness for children 16 to 30 months old and in families with low incomes. Each week, home visitors bring a toy and a book into the youngsters’ homes. National statistics indicate that the program increases the children’s odds of graduating from high school. See more photos below (click on photos for large versions).
