Classic contribution for Encompass!
12/8/2008

Proud to directly benefit the community in which the tournament is played, leaders of the Boeing Classic celebrate their recent contribution of $5,000 to Encompass, which serves children and families in the Snoqualmie Valley. Gregory Malcolm, Encompass executive director, holds the flag as Chuck Nelson, tournament director of the PGA TOUR Champions Tour event, drives a ceremonial golf ball into the Encompass hole during a Dec. 8 photo session.

The Boeing Classic has been held annually at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge since 2005. At this year’s event, held Aug. 18-24 and won by Tom Kite, Encompass joined The Heart Institute at Virginia Mason Medical Center and the First Tee of Greater Seattle as beneficiaries.
Encompass, founded in 1966, is based in nearby North Bend and serves residents of the growing communities serviced by the Snoqualmie, Issaquah and Riverview public school districts.
“We are tremendously grateful for the generosity of the Boeing Classic,” says Malcolm. “This event brings tens of thousands of golfers and fans to our valley each year, and we are overjoyed that the tournament is helping us to nurture children, enrich families and build community right here at home.”
